After a career as a CPA, CFP, banker, and investment advisor, I stepped into education, teaching high school and college math to help others build confidence with numbers. Retirement from full-time work opened a new door: sharing my knowledge through real estate, where every transaction affects lives and futures. Since 2018, I have focused my time and care on guiding clients through decisions about homes and investments in the Cloudcroft area. Each step I have taken - first in finance, then in the classroom, now as a licensed real estate broker - has reinforced my belief that service means providing honest advice and clarity, no matter how complex the topic may be. My aim is to give families, investors, and newcomers the information and support they need, so they can navigate the local property market with confidence. Jim Carlton leads Carlton Real Estate Services as both founder and lead broker, building on a career in public accountancy, financial planning, and investment advising before turning to teaching and then real estate. Licensed in New Mexico since 2018 and affiliated with Gary Mack Real Estate, Jim draws on more than thirty years of decision-making and problem-solving for real people, whether that means working through complex numbers or guiding families toward their first home in Cloudcroft. When it comes to buying, selling, or evaluating property in this unique mountain community, Jim's approach blends the analytical strength of a financial professional with the patient communication of an educator. Clients value his direct answers, local orientation, and the peace of mind that comes from having an experienced broker in their corner.
